Who owns Red Bull?

Red Bull GmbH, the original creators of the product, own the Red Bull brand. The Croatian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz founded and still owns Red Bull GmbH.

Mateschitz founded Red Bull GmbH in 1984. Production of Red Bull, based on the popular Thai energy drink Krating Daeng, began in Europe in 1987. Chaleo Yoovidhya, creator of Krating Daeng and one of the wealthiest men in Thailand, partnered with Red Bull. His son Chalerm owns a portion of the company as well. As of 2014, the company has over 9,000 employees and has sold over 5 billion cans of the beverage worldwide.
