What is OxyElite Pro?

OxyElite Pro is a dietary supplement manufactured by a Texas-based company called USPLabs. According to the manufacturer, it helps people with weight loss by burning fat.

In May 2013, cases concerning people falling ill due to ingesting OxyElite began to appear. However, the Food and Drug Administration did not learn of the cases until September, when the agency received a report on liver-related ailments in Hawaii. The next month, USPLabs stopped manufacturing the supplement and recalled the product from retailers. The FDA oversaw the destruction of the warehouse stocks of OxyElite Pro, which had a total retail value of around $22 million.
