What is a pack of lions called?

A pack of lions is a social group known as a pride. A pride typically consists of several females, two males and their related young, though they may expand to include up to 40 individuals. Lions are the only cat species that forms social groups.
While a lioness tends to remain in her mother's pride for her entire life, a male lion is generally forced out when he is old enough to compete with dominant males. The young male lion then searches for prides to take over. Lions often hunt together with the members of their pride, roaming their habitat for prey ranging in weight from 30 pounds to more than 1 ton, with the females heading the effort.
