Paddleball players use short-handled, perforated paddles and a small ball to play paddleball, which is similar to handball. Paddleball, which is normally played on a handball or racquetball court, can played as singles with two players or doubles with four players.
University of Michigan instructor and intramural sports director Earl Riskey invented paddleball in 1930. Players can visit the National Paddleball Association's website, NPA.Paddleball.org, to learn how to play the game, view official rules, find places to play, access tournament results and purchase items from the paddleball store. As of 2015, the game is most popular in Michigan, Wisconsin, southern California and Tennessee.
