How do you paint grass?

To paint grass, equip a garden sprayer with a lawn paint and water mixture, and then apply the paint to dry grass on a calm, sunny day. You need one 16-ounce bottle of paint per 300-square-feet area of grass.

1. Mask off vulnerable areas

   Mask off driveways, fences and other nongrass objects.

2. Mow the lawn

   Mow the lawn prior to application.

3. Mix the paint

   Mix the paint with water according to the instructions on the bottle.

4. Prepare the sprayer

   Add the paint to the garden sprayer, and set the nozzle to a fine mist.

5. Test the color

   Spray a hidden area to test the color of the paint. If the color is too dark, add more water.

6. Spray the lawn

   Spray the entire lawn in a circular pattern, refilling the sprayer as necessary.

7. Spray a second coat

   Wait for the first coat to dry, and then apply a second coat.

8. Maintain the grass

   Water the grass thoroughly once a week, and reapply the paint in two to three months.
