Are parvo treatments safe for puppies?
By Forinfos - 05/08/2025 - 0 comments
The treatment for parvovirus is not dangerous for any type of dog, including puppies. The treatment consists of improving the puppy's immune system and controlling the symptoms, since the virus does not have a cure. Some puppies also get antibiotics for the virus.
Dogs and puppies getting treatment with antibiotics typically stay in a pet hospital for the duration of treatment. Preventative care is the best way to avoid dangerous side effects of the virus. There are booster shots and vaccines given to puppies beginning at 6 to 8 weeks of age. The boosters are administered once a month until the puppy reaches 20 weeks.
