What is the pattern on a cribbage board?

A cribbage board features two lines of 120 holes. The holes are spaced into groups of five. Evenly spacing the holes in this manner allows players to quickly and easily compare their scores. The holes may follow any path around the board, provided they are evenly and consistently spaced.

A second pair of holes on the board is used to record the number of games that each player has won. This area is separate from the two main paths.

Cribbage boards can be made at home from any piece of material large enough to accommodate all of the holes. Planks of wood and pieces of a tree branch make good playing surfaces.
