A pecan gatherer is a long-handled garden tool with a harvesting attachment that picks pecans up from the ground. A simple pecan gatherer resembles a small wire basket on a broom handle.

A simple pecan gatherer resembles a potato ricer and works by pressing the metal basket over pecans on the ground. The pecans pop up between the wires and remain there until emptied into a basket. More sophisticated pecan gatherers have spring handles that allow the end attachment to grasp and release pecans, and some have rotary cages that allow the tool to be used in a rolling motion, as with a push mower.
