Pekin ducks are a breed of domesticated duck kept for eggs and meat. They were developed in China by domestication of the wild mallard duck. Pekin ducks are the most common breed of domestic duck in the United States. They are white with a yellow bill and weigh around 10 pounds when mature. They are too heavy to fly. A female Pekin can lay up to 200 eggs per year.
