What is the Pentecostal holiness teaching on hair?

Pentecostal holiness states women should not cut their hair, whereas men should have short hair. This is based on a literal understanding of 1 Corinthians 11, with an interpretation that uncut hair for a woman represents a head covering done to submit to God.

Apostolic Pentecostals believe that women's hair is used as a head covering, therefore should not be cut. Some Pentecostal churches do not even believe in a woman trimming her hair, because it is technically cutting one's hair. A woman cutting her hair makes it dishonorable to pray or prophesy. A man's hair, however, should be short, and facial hair is discouraged for men.
