Why are some people always cold?

Some people may always feel cold because they suffer from hypothyroidism, says WebMD. This is a condition in which the thyroid does not produce as much thyroid hormone as it should. One of the symptoms is an increased sensitivity to cold.

Other people who are cold all the time may be suffering from anemia, anorexia, vascular problems, fibromyalgia or problems with their hypothalamus, according to Healthline.

There are several types of anemia, but many have symptoms that include cold hands and feet, says Mayo Clinic. The hypothalamus is an area in the brain that controls many bodily functions, including body temperature, says MedlinePlus. It also controls the pituitary gland, which stimulates the thyroid to make thyroid hormones, claims Hormone Health Network.
