Why do people wear socks?
By Forinfos - 17/07/2025 - 0 comments
Socks are worn to absorb sweat that is produced by the feet and for warmth during cold seasons. They keep the feet free of bacteria and fungi that cause diseases, such as athlete's foot, and help prevent calluses.
Socks can prevent cracked and chafed skin. By absorbing perspiration, they help prevent shoes from developing foul odors. Wearing socks prevents blisters caused by the friction of shoes against the skin. In the house, socks can prevent injury, such as that caused by stepping on broken toys. In cold weather, socks can prevent frostbite and warm the entire body. Socks are also sometimes used as a fashion statement depending on how they are worn, their length and their color.
