What percentage of France's population do ethnic groups represent?

France estimates that its ethnic minority populations can be divided as follows: 4 to 7 million Arabs, 3 to 5 million blacks, 1.5 million Asians and 600,000 Jews. The majority ethnic groups in France are Celtic and Latin.
However, there are no reliable official statistics as to what percentage of the country's total population each ethnic group represents. This is due to a general lack of official racial statistics collection in Western European countries, perhaps stemming from the negative connotations of such practices, associated by many with Nazism. Despite several calls to reform this stance on demographic data, it was reported by The New Yorker in 2014 that France still avoids the topic.
