A person who first contracts Ebola may look like he has a bad case of flu, according to WebMD. He may appear very weak and suffer from a high fever, headaches and muscle pain. In later stages, the patient may begin vomiting and show signs of external bleeding.
It is also possible for a person to have the disease and not show any signs or symptoms, as stated by WebMD. This is because the virus can stay dormant inside the body for up to three weeks. During this stage, a patient is not considered contagious. Only when symptoms appear is a person able to spread the virus. Even then, the virus requires prolonged exposure to the patient's bodily fluids to spread.
