What is a personal timeline?

A personal timeline is a graph or diagram that visualizes significant moments in a person's life. It highlights the causal events, both positive and negative, that lead to what has become of the person in the present.

To create a personal timeline of a person, list down all important, influential events during his lifetime and arrange them in a chronological order. Once complete, the timeline may be able to show general themes, connections between events and moments where opportunities have been grabbed or taken for granted. By knowing these things, the person can reinvigorate his purpose in life and prepare himself for more personal trials in the future.
