How long do applications take to get approved for adoption from the Inverness Humane Society?

The Inverness Human Society states that there is no set time for adoption applications to be approved. The adoption process starts with the completion of an application form, and includes meeting the prospective adoptive family and carrying out an in-depth screening process.

Screening process includes home visits and vet checks. Once everything has been checked and the Inverness Human Society staff is confident that the pet will be provided with a safe home for life, a legally binding adoption contract needs to be signed. Once the contract is signed and an adoption fee is paid ($65 or more for cats/$75 or more for dogs), the adoption process is complete.
