Do pigs make good pets?

Pigs can be good pets with proper care and training. Pot-bellied pigs in particular are suitable house pets, and they can be trained in the same way as dogs.
Pot-bellied pigs are playful and intelligent. They can be trained to use a leash and can learn various tricks. Their intelligence allows them to open doors to refrigerators and cupboards when searching for food. However, pigs can be dominant, aggressive and stubborn and may exhibit destructive behavior when bored. Owners can curb negative behavior through positive reinforcement. A combination of patience, repetition and rewarding good behavior helps pigs conform to the rules of a household.
