What is a plastic wash bottle used for?

Plastic wash bottles are used to store and dispense liquids. Common liquids kept in laboratory wash bottles include distilled water, ethanol, acetone and isopropanol. These liquids are commonly used to rinse out, sterilize, and dry laboratory glassware and equipment.
A plastic wash bottle usually consists of a squeezable plastic bottle consisting of polyethylene, a screw-on cap and a squirt tube. When the bottle is squeezed, the liquid inside is dispensed in a fine stream through the tube.
Laboratory wash bottles are available with pre-printed labels denoting the contents and are also available in plain bottles that can be labelled by the user.
