The plot of "The Servant of Two Masters" involves Beatrice, the sister to Federigo, who goes in place of her brother in a disguise to win the dowry offered to his fiancee since Federigo has died. From here, the plot continues through hilarious twists and turns leading to all of the original couples marrying happily ever after and the characters learning that the servant, Truffaldino, is actually a servant to two different masters.
Truffaldino's role in the play is to provide much of the comic relief, as he accepts a job halfway through the play where he decides to serve two different masters in order to double his current income. The play was written by William Shakespeare and is a comedy.
