"The Communist Manifesto" was written by social scientists and political theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It was published in 1848, and is widely considered to be one of the most influential political works in the world.
"The Communist Manifesto" is part of a series on Marxism. Other writings in the series include works such as "Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844" and "Dialectics of Nature."
Although the Marx and Engels share credit for "The Communist Manifesto," Engels was quoted as saying that the basic thought behind the work belonged with exclusivity to Marx. The manuscript is still relevant today, and is studied and praised by contemporary politicians and authors.
