What are Pokemon trading cards?

Pokemon trading cards are a means of further expanding upon the Pokemon universe, which was first established on Nintendo Game Boy and then the cartoon series. This allows players to collect and battle their pocket monsters in a card-based game.

There are over thousands of available cards to collect, with the numerous booster packs and decks that can be purchased. The game is continuously expanding and changing, as Pokemon International Company makes new releases every year. There are theme decks that players can start with or smaller booster packs that are less expensive and increasingly randomized. Four new releases are made each year.
