To pop an ingrown zit, gently puncture the head of the pimple with a sterile needle, then lightly press the surrounding tissue to force the infection out. It is best to do this after showering. Only puncture a pimple if it is ready and releases easily.

  1. Prick the pimple

    Use a sterile needle to puncture the head of infection. Be gentle.

  2. Push the surrounding tissue

    Cover your index fingers in tissues, then apply pressure around the head. Do not use excess force.

  3. Stop if this does not work

    If the pimple does not release easily or if clear fluid or blood start to come out, leave it alone.
