“No Man’s Land,” a war drama written and directed by Danis Tanovic, was released in 2001. The film revolves around two wounded soldiers, a Bosnian Serb and a Bosniak, caught in no man’s land and struggling to survive. It won the Best Foreign Language Film at the 2001 Academy Awards and the 2001 Golden Globe Awards. It also won the Best Screenplay awards at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival and the European Film Academy.
