What is the population of Cuba?

As of July, 2014, the population of Cuba was 11,047,251. Cuba is an island country in the Caribbean, situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The country is considered part of Central American, but is only approximately 93 miles south of Florida's southern tip.

Cuba's official language is Spanish, and the majority of its inhabitants are white, with the mestizo and black races coming in second and third. The life expectancy is 78 years on average, but the average for women is a bit higher at 80. The country was originally under Spain's rule, but was granted independence in 1902.
