Who is Porter Stansberry?

Porter Stansberry is an investment analyst and author. He founded and runs the financial publishing company Stansberry & Associates Investment Research, as of 2015, and publishes a monthly newsletter called "Stansberry's Investment Advisory."

Stansberry is best known for his 2010 video "End of America", in which he predicted that a hard financial crash would lead to rioting and martial law in the country and recommended investment in gold and silver.

In 2003, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission brought a high-profile case against him for fraud. The case captured public attention beyond financial circles due to its implications for free speech. Stansberry was found liable by a lower court, and the Supreme Court refused to hear the case upon appeal.
