Professional basketball player Kobe Bryant plays the position of guard. As of the 2014 season, Bryant plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Drafted by the Charlotte Hornets right out of high school, he was then traded to the Lakers.

The 6-foot-6-inch Bryant played his high school career at Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and became the first Laker and the 27th NBA player to go from high school straight into the pros when he was taken in the first round of the 1996 draft. He has played on five NBA championship teams and was chosen the most valuable player on two of them.
