Is it possible to become invisible?

Though there is some research and experimentation on the subject, there is not, as of 2014, a viable way to become completely invisible. Objects and people are visible because light reflects off them and hits the viewer's eye.

For an object or person to be invisible, it would need to neither reflect nor absorb light. In fantasy and science-fiction writing and film, invisibility is often achieved by using magic or advanced technology. As of 2014, invisibility is possible for certain wavelengths of radiation but not for visible light. The most advanced invisibility device created today is a cloak that masks visible light using a meta-material fishnet.
