PowerSchool is a Web-based software application that allows teachers, parents and school administrators to track and share information about students. Teachers can use PowerSchools to keep a record of students' grades and attendance, which parents can then view at home by logging into a PowerSchools account.
PowerSchools debuted in 1997 and became property of Apple in 2001. As of 2015, it has over 15 million student profiles in 65 countries. Each user of PowerSchools - including teachers, parents and students - is given access to a unique password-protected account that allows him to view information that is relevant to him.
