What predators prey on great white sharks?

Predators that prey on great white sharks include killer whales, or orcas. Great white sharks also prey on other smaller great white sharks. Humans also can threaten the great white shark when they catch it in nets and sell its fins and jaws for money.

Great white sharks sometimes engage in cannibalism as shark pups right before birth. These carnivorous sea creatures also snack on small-toothed whales, dead animals, seals and sea turtles.

Sharks are part of the orcas' diet. These killer whales flip great white sharks upside-down before devouring them. When the shark is belly up, it is in a state of paralysis and is defenseless. This state makes it easy for orcas to eat the shark.
