Do prenatal pills help your hair grow faster?

Mayo Clinic explains that while there are claims that prenatal vitamins encourage hair growth, these claims are not proven. Prenatal vitamins are considered safe for adult women, but the supplements are specifically formulated for women who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Dr. Oz explains that many pregnant women attribute excess hair growth during pregnancy to prenatal vitamins, but it is most likely caused by a boost in estrogen levels that naturally occurs during the gestation period. Dr. Oz also states that prenatal vitamins contain higher amounts of iron than standard multivitamins and can cause nausea, constipation and diarrhea in women who are not pregnant.
