This sauce gives a salty ham a sweet complement with its use of pineapples, maraschino cherries and brown sugar. The recipe creates about 3 1/2 cups of sauce.

Total time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 12-ounce can of pineapple juice
- 20-ounce can of crushed pineapple
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons of corn starch
- 1/3 cup of water
- 8 cut-up maraschino cherries
- 1/8 cup of cherry juice
- Strain the pineapple
- Put the pineapple juice in the saucepan
- Add sugar
- Mix in the cornstarch and water
- Add the fruit
- Serve the sauce
Dump the crushed pineapple into a colander to separate it from the juice. Collect the juice in the saucepan. Place the strained pineapple into another dish.
Place the can of pure pineapple juice into the saucepan.
Put the sauce on the oven on medium heat and add the sugar.
Add the cornstarch and the water to the pineapple juice and sugar mixture, stirring it until it thickens.
Place the cherries, cherry juice and the pineapple into the saucepan.
After everything is mixed together, dump the sauce into a gravy boat and serve warm with the ham.
For a chicken dish, use chunks of pineapple instead of crushed pineapple.
