Tesla cars are generally less expensive than their available counterparts on the automotive market. The 2015 Model S for example, has a base price of $71,000 while the BMW I8 begins as $137,450, as of April 2015.
Tesla strives to provide top-notch luxury class vehicles at a lower-end price. One of Tesla's most featured vehicles, the Model S, not only beats the price of its competitors, but also offers a fast 0 to 60 mph time of 3.2 seconds. It also manages to receive slightly more than 220 miles per full charge. A full charge takes approximately 10 hours to complete using a 240-volt power source.
