The primary mountain ranges in British Columbia, Canada, include the Cassiar Mountains, the Coast Mountains along the Pacific Ocean, and the Columbia Mountains and Canadian Rocky Mountains along the eastern side. These mountain ranges all have multiple sub-ranges.
The Coast Mountains and the Canadian Rockies are heavily glaciated with many snow-capped peaks. The Coast Mountains are heavily forested on the western side of the range. Mount Waddington, which reaches 13,186 feet high, is one of the highest points in British Columbia. Located in the Coast Mountain range, this dormant volcano is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire of volcanic mountains.
