Proctor & Gamble, or P&G, does not provide power outage updates as it is a consumer packaged goods company that sells beauty, health care, cleaning, hygiene and other personal and home-use products. Pacific Gas & Electric Company, or PG&E, provides information on electric and gas outages on its website.

The PG&E website allows an individual to search for power outages using his address or city. The company provides a map of all outages, and the user has access to each outage's start time, estimated restoration time, and number of customers affected. The user can also see a report on the outage's cause and current status and can request updates by voice, text or email. The site refreshes its information every 15 minutes.
