What is Proctor's reason for not attending his church regularly?

In the play "The Crucible," John Proctor does not attend church because he does not care for Reverend Parris. Proctor believes that the Reverend is too focused on his own personal wealth.
John Proctor also dislikes his church as he believes that God is not spoken about enough. He feels that instilling fear and not God is the focus of many of the Sunday sermons.
John Proctor is the protagonist in ''The Crucible,'' and his pregnant wife is accused of witchcraft. He does all he can to prove that the young girls accusing others of witchcraft are lying, and that the accused are innocent.
