Where do pronghorn antelopes live?

The pronghorn is native throughout western North America, stretching from Canada through the United States to Mexico. The herbivore prefers open lands where it is able to feed on grass, sagebrush and other vegetation.

Running at speeds of up to 53 miles per hour, the pronghorn is the second-fastest land mammal in the world, trailing only the cheetah. Coupled with the ability to run at up to half that speed for extended periods of time, the nimble-footed antelope is able to avoid pursuit by coyotes and bobcats. Young pronghorns are remarkably able to outrun a human being within just a few days of birth.
