Where do you find a property plat map?

A property plat map can be found at the local county recorder's office where the property is located. Plat maps are generally filed along with the property deed.

A property plat map contains very detailed information about the subject property, including who owns the property and the limitations to use the property. The plat map may also include the boundary lines, property descriptions, dimension, rights of way and easements.

Plat maps may also be made to outline a complete subdivision. These maps generally give the tract number, and each parcel is outlined and numbered, with the size of each parcel indicated on the map.
