How do you prune a yucca plant?

Pruning a yucca plant is as simple as removing the plant from its pot and cutting the trunk off at the halfway point. Repot the plant and water as usual.

A yucca plant only needs pruning when it grows too tall for its surroundings. The trunk can be cut using a small saw or pair of loppers. After cutting off the trunk, the yucca plant should immediately be repotted. It will take a few weeks for the plant to get over the shock, but it won't be long until it begins sprouting new growth. The best time to prune a yucca is right before its growth season begins, which is in the early spring.
