A PTSD test is an evaluation to see whether or not an individual has a condition known as post-traumatic stress disorder, states Mayo Clinic. The test usually involves a thorough psychological evaluation.
PTSD is a mental health condition that is triggered by a terrifying event that usually held the threat of violence, personal injury or death, states Mayo Clinic. The individual can either experience it herself or witness a terrifying act done to others. To be diagnosed with PTSD, an individual must meet certain criteria, which a doctor goes over during the evaluation. Some examples of criteria used for diagnosis include having distressing dreams or memories and experiencing flashbacks of the situation.
