Bicep bands are absorbent pieces of material worn by athletes around their bicep muscles to absorb sweat in an effort to aid the athlete's performance. They are also worn as a fashion accessory with the intention of making arm muscles appear larger and more defined.
In many cases, bicep bands were originally designed as wristbands. The effectiveness of bicep bands, with regard to whether or not they improve the performance of an athlete, is debatable. Some althletes wear the bands simply because they like the way they look. The bicep bands worn by professional athletes are trademarked in many cases to promote their league, team, sponsors or advertisers.
