What is the difference between recruitment and selection?
By Forinfos - 21/05/2025 - 0 comments
Recruitment involves promoting an open position and trying to attract a large pool of qualified applicants, while selection involves the use of various screening tools to evaluate candidates for the purpose of making the best hiring decision. Recruitment and selection are two distinct steps in a hiring process.
Recruitment methods include the use of a search firm, help wanted ads, networking and internal postings. An application, cover letter and resume are often requested for initial screening. Interviews, background checks and reference checks are then used to carry out the selection process. After the ideal candidate is selected, a job offer is extended.
