How does push-fit plumbing work?
By Forinfos - 14/06/2025 - 0 comments
Push-fit plumbing uses specially designed valves, couplings, connectors and other pipe fixtures to join pipes without using clamps, glue, soldering or unions. A push-fit connector uses metal teeth to grip an inserted pipe and forms a watertight seal with a compression fitting O-ring once the pipe hits the tube stopper.
Push-fit connection pieces are made with brass, polypropylene and other durable materials and can be used with copper, PEX or PVC pipes for plumbing and irrigation applications. Some brands of push-fit connectors are removable due to the use of built-in disconnection clips or a specialized removal tool, making adjustment or removal much easier.
