How do you quiet a slamming door?

To quiet a slamming door, install adhesive weatherstripping along the door frame. You need a tape measure, a utility knife and a roll of foam weatherstripping.

1. Measure the doorjamb

   Use a tape measure to measure the width and height of the doorjamb.

2. Cut weatherstripping to length

   Roll out the weatherstripping until it reaches the length of the first measurement, and cut the strip. Repeat with the remaining two measurements.

3. Attach strips to the door frame

   Peel off the paper on the back of the strip, and attach the strip to the inside of the frame where the door first meets the frame when it closes. Repeat until all three sides are weatherstripped.
