How often do rabbits mate?
By Forinfos - 06/11/2025 - 0 comments
Rabbits in the wild mate continuously throughout their breeding season, which lasts from February through September. Female rabbits ovulate after they mate and are considered to be constantly fertile.
The rabbit's short, 30-day gestation period enables it to produce up to five litters a year, with an average of four to five kits per litter. Litter sizes can range from three to eight kits. A mother rabbit typically spends time away from the nest during the day to better protect her nest from the unwanted attention of predators. The kits require one feeding every 24 hours and are fed at night.
