Which radiation has no electric charge associated with it?
By Forinfos - 08/12/2025 - 0 comments
Gamma is a type of radiation with no electric charge. Gamma photons also lack mass. Gamma photons posses 10,000 times as much energy as photons in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Gamma radiation exposure for most people comes in the form of naturally occurring radionuclides. These are present in soil and in certain foods. People who undergo certain health procedures such as thyroid, bone and lung scans may also be exposed to some amount of gamma radiation.
Gamma rays can pass through a variety of materials. They can be halted with the use of lead or other heavy materials that can block or stop the photons.
