The Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi is credited with inventing the radio in 1895. However, the radio was not just one man’s creation. In 1895, Marconi actually sent out the first telegraphic message. This led to the invention of the radio.
Marconi was working on a system that would allow him to send and receive messages through the use of radio waves. This system of relaying messages was called the Morse code. The radio in its current form came about much later. There were a number of inventions, such as the telephone and the telegraph, that made it possible for the radio to come into existence.
