The consumption of ramen noodles can have negative health effects on the human body. A study released in the Journal of Nutrition found that people consuming two or more servings of ramen noodles per week have an increased chance of suffering from diseases such as Type 2 diabetes.
Long-term health effects of ramen noodles in women who consume more than two servings weekly include an increase of 68 percent in cardiometabolic syndrome. As ramen noodles contain sodium and are made with processed wheat flour, they increase the body's glycemic index. Long periods of consuming ramen noodles can also lead the body to develop blood sugar disorders.
