As of 2015, there is no Rave theater in Peoria, Illinois. In October 2012, Georgia-based Carmike Cinemas bought 16 movie theaters from the Texas-based company Rave Review Cinemas, including the theater in Peoria, formerly known as Rave Motion Pictures Grand Prairie 18.

The former Rave movie theater in Peoria is now known as Carmike Grand Prairie 18.

Carmike Cinemas is the fourth-largest movie distributor in the United States. It owns and operates 270 cinemas in 41 states, including 12 cinemas located in Illinois. In November 2012, Cinemark, which is the third-largest movie theater chain in the United States, purchased the remaining 32 Rave movie theaters. Rave earned over $300 million in these two deals.
