How do you read blood pressure by hand?

WebMD explains that to measure blood pressure at home, the proper equipment is needed. Home blood pressure monitors are available in the traditional arm-cuff model and in a wrist model.
For the most accurate blood pressure readings from home, WebMD advises measuring blood pressure at the same time daily to get a consistent reading and to take several readings spaced one minute apart. Avoid caffeine, cigarettes and exercise for 30 minutes prior to measuring blood pressure for accuracy. Blood pressure is to be taken in a seated position with the back straight and both feet flat on the floor. The arm is supported on a flat surface and held at heart level.
