CNBC provides a ticker tape that scrolls across the bottom of the television screen, explains Investopedia. On the ticker, viewers see information such as AAPL 5k @ 61.00, in which AAPL represents the ticker symbol, 5k represents the amount of shares traded, and @ 61.00 represents the share price.

Other information on the CNBC ticker includes an up or down arrow and a decimal number such as 1.35, according to Investopedia. The up or down arrows represent the change direction in the price of the stock, and the decimal figure represents the change amount. Many of the changes are current or slightly delayed by 15 minutes.
